How to Celebrate Shabbat as a Christian

As the evening that begins Shabbat draws near, my children and I work together to prepare challah and grape juice, a delicious dinner, and a festive set table.

At each place, not only do we neatly set a glass, silverware and napkin, and a plate, but we also set each place with a festive, elegant Shabbat siddur, a Messianic Shabbat blessings and prayers guide.

Our Family Shabbat Siddur can be purchased as a physical copy on Amazon or downloaded as a PDF from my Etsy shop!

How to Celebrate Shabbat as a Christian

This Shabbat siddur is our order of welcoming and celebrating the Sabbath as a Christian family, a means of being intentional about setting the Sabbath apart and teaching our children about YHVH’s holy day.

We use this Shabbat guide during our Shabbat dinner on Friday evening.

Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your servant, and the stranger may be refreshed.

Exodus 23:12 (WEB)

Please be aware that this siddur is a resource for your family to enthusiastically celebrate the Sabbath; welcoming the Sabbath in this way is not commanded. You have the liberty to use this siddur in whole, in part, with additions, or as inspiration.

Our Family Shabbat Siddur has been invaluable to our family, as we welcome the Sabbath each week. YHVH’s holy day is so good and good for us!

I am amazed by our God! The Most High, the Creator of all that is, that could rule and reign in any way, has chosen to be merciful, to be just, to be kind, and to offer us a weekly refreshment in His presence and in fellowship with likeminded believers. What a great God we serve!!

Shalom!

Raquel
